About us
Our research group, founded in 2018, aims to identify and analyse metaphorical expressions in Hungarian texts. The group adapted the MIPVU method, a protocol widely used in international metaphor research, to Hungarian, and then successfully applied and implemented it in small- and medium-scale annotation projects. In recent years, the group has investigated metaphoric patterns of certain text types (informal texts, journalistic discourse, fiction and academic prose), explored metaphor use in political communication in social media, and also established the basis for a comparative analysis of metaphorization in Finnish and Hungarian online news texts, and metaphors of online communication related to suicide intentions.
